The production allocation, revealed days before the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event on 22 July, marks a measurable bet that a redesigned, wider-format foldable can capture demand ahead of Apple’s long-rumoured entry into the category.
The device, glimpsed in a social media story posted by BTS member and Samsung brand ambassador J-Hope, shows a shorter, passport-like profile with a dual rear camera and a new hinge mechanism. Leaked specifications point to a 4:3 aspect ratio main display—broader than its predecessor—and a ‘Flex Titanium’ structure that combines a titanium-alloy film and plate to reduce the visible crease that has been a persistent challenge for foldable screens.
