In Tapira, Minas Gerais, a driver was airlifted with multiple fractures after his car hit a tree and overturned; a witness said the vehicle had been speeding. Police in São Paulo state also arrested a drunk driver who collided with a motorcyclist in Atibaia and then threatened a firefighter, and a man in Jundiaí found riding a stolen motorcycle with its plate removed. In Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, a motorcyclist who fled a traffic stop and resisted officers was taken into custody despite a breathalyzer reading below the legal limit.

Across the globe, motorcycle theft and attempted robbery incidents surfaced. In East Jakarta, Indonesia, CCTV recorded two men stealing a Honda Scoopy in under two minutes early Friday; the victim, 55, reported a loss of 23 million rupiah, and police have yet to identify the suspects. In Mexico City, a woman was arrested after allegedly stealing a motorcycle tracked by C2 North camera operators, the Citizen Security Secretariat said. In Cúcuta, Colombia, residents beat a man accused of attempting a robbery with two motorcycle-riding accomplices; police rescued and arrested the wounded suspect, while the other two escaped, according to witness accounts reported locally.

All crashes remain under investigation, with preliminary information pointing to factors such as excessive speed and failure to obey traffic stops. The officer injured in the Inhapim checkpoint incident was reported in stable but critical condition Monday. The weekend’s toll is provisional as authorities continue to probe causes.
