A lawyer identified as RM Napitupulu, also referred to in some reports as Rocky Martin Napitupulu, died on Saturday after falling from the 46th floor of the Master Piece apartment building in the Setiabudi district of South Jakarta. His body was found on a second-floor balcony of the adjacent Hotel The G, according to a statement from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. local time, and officers from the Setiabudi sector police responded to the scene.

Preliminary findings, based on witness interviews and CCTV footage reviewed by investigators, indicate that the man arrived at the apartment complex alone. He then proceeded to the gondola rail area on the 46th floor before the fall. Police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto confirmed that the body was discovered on the hotel balcony and that a crime scene investigation has been completed. Authorities have not released a formal cause of death, but the incident is being treated as a suspected suicide, with the motive still under investigation.

In the hours following the death, unverified claims circulated on Indonesian social media platforms suggesting that the deceased was a nephew of prominent Indonesian lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea. Some posts questioned the rapid burial and alleged unusual circumstances. Responding to these claims, the police spokesperson stated that investigators are still examining any possible family connection and have not confirmed the relationship.
