In the municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico, municipal police responded to reports of gunfire and found three lifeless bodies inside a residence in the La Quebrada colony on Saturday. The local government stated that initial indications pointed to a deliberate attack on that location. Forensic teams from the state attorney general’s office began processing the scene, with no arrests announced by evening.

Separately, a pursuit that began in Mexico City’s Azcapotzalco district and ended across the state line in Naucalpan led to the arrest of a 38-year-old man whom police found carrying marijuana, cocaine and a substance suspected to be crystal methamphetamine. According to the Mexico City security secretariat, the suspect has five prior incarcerations for robbery and drug offenses. Officers had been responding to reports of shots fired and a street brawl when the man fled in a vehicle against traffic.

Thousands of kilometers away, in the Algerian city of Mila, security forces intercepted a vehicle and discovered 23,760 pregabalin capsules of foreign origin, hidden in specially constructed compartments. One person was arrested and a sum of money believed to be criminal proceeds was confiscated, police said. In the Tangerang Regency of Indonesia’s Banten province, authorities arrested two men and seized 419 pills of the restricted painkillers Tramadol and Hexymer, along with cash and mobile phones. The local police chief credited a public tip-off and vowed consistent enforcement against what he termed hard drug distribution that endangers communities.

In South America, Peruvian anti-drug officers in Piura detained a 28-year-old Ecuadorian national carrying 353 small packages of cocaine base paste, commonly known as PBC, during a street operation. And in Bogotá, Colombia, real-time video surveillance cameras monitored by the city’s command centre spotted a suspected dealer in the San Bernardo sector. Police arrived to find 38 capsules of bazuco — a low-cost cocaine derivative — and arrested a 26-year-old man with a record of theft, assault and weapons charges. All suspects are expected to face preliminary hearings in the coming days as investigations continue to trace supply networks.
